A new singing group for teenage girls.
In this small ensemble we will work on vocal technique, breathing, listening, ear training and 2 and 3 part singing, through learning to sing a variety of really wonderful music from a myriad of sources….
The ability to sight read music is not a requirement-- however a commitment to rehearsals and practice is necessary, and improved sight reading skills may ensue…

For the Littlest Ones:

3’s 4’s and 5’s who are ready to sing and play simple singing games.

In this class, we acquire a repertoire of classic children’s songs and games that the whole family can enjoy. Enliven family car rides and learn some quiet songs for bed time.
Family participation encouraged.

Children's Chorus

Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30
March 10, 17, 24, (no class on the 31st) April 8, 15, 22, 29
Open to 6 -10 year olds who love to sing.

This group acquires singing and rhythmic skills through learning really fun songs, rounds, musical games, Orff accompaniments, and partner songs. This group performs in concert in Woodstock at the Kleinert James at least twice a year, and in the recent past has also sung on community radio(link), and Levon Helm’s Kids Ramble. This Spring we will be performing at the Ashokan Center Earth Day celebration on April 24 as well as our final concert, Sunday June 6th at the Kleinert in Woodstock. Save the dates!

Byrdsong

Thursdays,  5:45-7:15
This is a mostly a cappella singing group.

Open to women who love to sing and want to make a commitment to weekly practice.
This group performs an international repertoire of songs, and performs both in formal concerts at least twice a year and also at the bedsides of sick and house bound friends.
While we do not hold formal auditions, we ask prospective members to join for a session on a trial basis.

Recorder Ensemble

Monday evenings

For recorder players who sightread on at least one recorder (A or F) and want to gain sight reading and ensemble experience.  We will explore the recorder repertoire of the renaissance and baroque.

Cost for 8 classes payable in advance: $100.00
Drop-ins $15 per class by permission of instructor
